Knowing in 2010 that 1 out of every 6 Americans struggled with the reality of hunger, that 25% of Philadelphians live below the poverty line, and that 1 in every 3 children in our area live in poverty we are deeply committed to working towards making sure that all in our area have “food security”. Here’s how:
– Monthly food collection for Norristown’s Interfaith Food Bank
– Working at the Norristown Interfaith Food Bank
– Quarterly cooking and serving at Bread of Life Cafe in Norristown
– Support of the work of the Norristown Advocates Against Hunger by co-sponsoring the “Focus on Hunger” and working at the Fresh Produce Days
– Visit U.S. Senators and Congressmen lobbying on issue of hunger relief
– Bread for Life “Offering of Letters” to advocate for support of those who are hungry through letters to national leaders
